Doncaster Astronomical Society (DAS) in partnership with the Austerfield Field Study Centre, has in the grounds of the study centre, their own observatory consisting of two domes, crammed with leading edge optical instruments.

Members of the society participate in visual and photographic astronomy and cater for members of all ages and abilities and take an active role in the education of school children, scouts and other groups with regards to astronomy and science.

The Study Centre is located in the village of Austerfield, on the A614 between Finningley and Bawtry, and if coming from the north, Finningley, it is on the right, 150 metres after the 30MPH speed sign in the village. Here is a google map.

The observatory is opened for members' use by arrangement, and members of the public are made welcome on Autumn and Winter Friday nights, if clear.

Public stargazing sessions temporarily suspended till further notice.

Email the Austerfield Study Centre or call them (01302 710415) to book a visit to the observatory.
